a start

I admit I scanned rather than read this piece. I think there's a very simple point to be made considering the current business climate.

Although my business is way down, and I'm scared, I actually feel good. I've always been in pretty good physical shape. Now it's the best in 10 years.

Less work, yes. So I bike more. I walk more. I take Wednesdays days off for skiing, hiking, climbing. (A steady schedule is easier to keep, for both my calendar and my companions.)

When I do get work, I have the energy and hunger to dive into the job with passion and joy. Even jobs that, two years ago, I would have turned down -- by ramping up my bid or quote ridiculously -- are completed with something approaching a good attitude.

In short, take advantage of this slow time to fine-tune the bod. It's free, and the brain improves too. Value-added!
