Convert Print Layout to Interactive

Sandee didn't say how to convert an existing layout to add interactivity. To convert an existing layout (print or Web), just choose Layout> Duplicate> Interactive. The result is a new layout, identical to the original layout, that you can add interactivity to. It's handy for animating page items, and adding sound and movies to an existing brochure or presentation.

Animation on a path

Sandee didn't mention it, but one feature I find tremendously cool is the ability to make any page item move along a Bézier path. For example, you can make a logo do a loop-de-loop and land at a specific location at a specific time. Or, let an animation unfold as it follows a path of any shape. (Items can also follow the outline of simple shapes, such as ovals, lines and rectangles, but this new use for the Bézier line tool is impressive.)

Puzzled

I was a bit puzzled with the review, Sandee.
You make it sounds as if lots of stuff don't work, e.g by writing "I expected to be able to do things like have a drop shadow appear separately from its text box. But with the exception of a Fade In and Fade Out effect, QID does nothing with the print effects for XPress."
Yet in your sample you show shadows working?

And your final verdict is "well, it isn't what I expected it to be", yet you give it 7 YES out of 8 possible points you raised beforehand. Isn't 7/8 = 87.5%?

For $99 I am going to buy it, doesn't need to be any cheaper for me...

Sandee's response to iDesigner

Sorry, I wasn't clear.

Yes, the shadows are part of the elements in my sample. But I was hoping that the shadow could be set to move separately from its object or fade in after the object.

I did answer "Yes" to 7 of the 8 points. But two of those Yes answers had a "but" within the paragraph. And those two problems are significant.

In addition, the single "No" answer has to do with the learning curve. And that's where I find QID too cumbersome.

So the 5 unqualified Yes answers add up to the same 5 out of 8 rating in the bar graph.

Good. But the final price is $199. That I find too much for this version of the product.
